I'm taking some medicine to kill off the lyme bacteria that's been in my system for years. it makes me feel sick in the way that feels similar to a fever, but my temperature never gets over 99. I get frustrated because I have internal symptoms that don't show on the outside enough for me to even know what treatment I should try to get

This doesn't quite answer your question, but I was told by my specialist that with lyme sometimes your body temperature can sit a bit lower, so in my family if my temp gets to 98 we consider it a fever... could just be an experience specific to me, but maybe that helps!

I've also had Lyme in my system for years and just recently found out. I got put on doxycycline and it actually did give me fevers. It was terrible. I would also fell like I was going to throw up all the time. I understand the internal symptoms thing and I too am not sure what to do about it. I'm going to try some gut-health stuff next but we'll see. Hope you're journey through this turns out okay.
@Marie2266 you should be careful with allergies/reactions to antibiotics. I'm allergic since I contracted lyme when I wasn't before.
@Nat_Nat that's great advice actually. I've never thought of that before
