hey, just curious, have any other autistic people on here felt more connected with fictional worlds than this one? especially with worlds that relate to your special interest(s)?

More so when I was younger, I was absolutely OBSESSED with fantasy. It was so hard to believe that I truly lived in a world where magic didn’t exist, I wanted to be somewhere else so badly

I felt very connected to the world in the Dragon Prince. That is one of my comfort shows.

Absolutely. I was meant to be in Harry Potter, or The Big Bang Theory - I relate to Sheldon so much.

Yes I was a book worm growing up and even now I feel like so removed from this reality any time I watch a show, those feel more real then what else is going on. It concerns me sometimes but 🤷🏻‍♀️

100%. I feel far more connected to Middle Earth than to real life a lot of the time. But life is what it is.
