I'm having trouble deciding to go to surgery for my knee, I'm hesitant about it being successful! I have taken care of patients with knee surgery and it is painful/recognizing etc. and these days they don't keep you in the hospital, they do it outpatient! please give me some encouragement, this is affecting my every day life!

Hi ! Its ok to be hesitant about getting surgery for your knee I felt the same way .trust me you should get the surgery. The longer you wait the more your knee breaks down. I was up and walking the very next day after my knee replacement surgery. When I went to physical therapy just before leaving the hospital I had to go up and down stairs with the on staff therapist. I was so afraid to do it because in the past going up five steps was sheer pain .id have to pur my rib cage on the rail to my deck and pull myself up the stairs to get inside my house. So when the therapist told me its ok go up with the good leg step down with your new knee leg. I couldnt believe it! I went slowly up and down with just my hand on the rail .once I was finished I asked the therapist could I do that again.and I did .after I came back down I burst into tears I told him that i havent been able to do that in five years! The simplest things I hadnt been able to do I can do now. My life is so much better I am myself again ! Now I have to have my other knee done due to putting all my weight on my other leg due to me limping before my knee surgery. I promise you this, you will be fine you will recover so quickly I understand how you feel I was so afraid to get surgery I am a different person now I am who I used to be I can atand straight I can walk I can put my shoes on without a struggle. 🤗 please dont be afraid you will be able to recover quickly and you can get back to being you again the you that isnt in pain anymore I promise you its worth it .the pain after surgery is more muscular not bone grinding pain 24/7 you will recover fast I promise you 💕

Have you tried Coolief radio frequency nerve ablation? If not, Google it. I've had it done 3x in 3 years. 85% pain reduction that lasts about 8-10 months for me.

@GreyWolf I will definitely do some research on this one. I really don't want to do the surgery.

I get Coolief (radio frequency ablation) done and it reduces arthritis knee pain for months. This is my 3rd year getting it done and it's fabulous!

@reginasmom It gets rid of 85-90% of the intense aching in my knees caused by osteoarthritis, and lasts about 8 months for me. Nerves regenerate and then the pain returns.

My surgery is contingent on when I bring my sugar down, so I have to wait until it's under control. I also cut my foot, which required surgery to repair the tendon. So it will probably be 18 to 2 years from now. I don't have any fmla left. I do chair exercises I found on you tube to keep my one leg strong until the other one can catch up.

@Sunnyvale I love YouTube videos for exercise. So many different types to choose from.

Hi, good afternoon. I am having the same issues about the surgery. I tried taking a walk yesterday and today I am in so much pain. I live in NYC, which is a "walking town ". My motivation to get the surgery is to be able to get around without being in pain. 🙏 I walk to be able to walk blocks and blocks without being in pain.
