I've been getting hit hard with bad anxiety attacks at night due to my ex husband. I hate PTSD that my doctor claims is in remission but I don't think so. It's been really bad and I just need to talk to someone that understands toxic relationships and trauma from that. I'm with someone new but it's still a struggle everyday. Anyone feel like talking?

Hi. I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with heavy flashbacks. I went through mine for a few years, but gratefully they have subsided. I still get small episodes every now and then, but they’re much less intense now. Please feel free to message me anytime; I’m happy to chat and listen and hold space. 💖

Please message me as well. It’s exhausting and is taking so long to get over. People I thought who were friends can’t be around hyper vigilant defense behavior when they want to just have fun. That’s why a community like this is so beneficial

I struggled for years, so you have kids with him it is harder to heal when you have to see them if you do, don't exchange at houses that could make it worse do a meeting spot in public or through trusted mutual friend or have someone with you. If not that's better for now until you start healing avoid anything triggering my biggest was something I didn't think of light blue rooms and getting yelled and trapped at in them so when you feel triggered ask yourself what it was. Talk to a therapist to address what keeps replaying in your mind. EMDR therapist might be more help. I take busbar that I've found to be helpful

One night, I went into a church and asked Jesus to help me. I was to the point where I trembled often. It was difficult to work. I'm a hairdresser, when your scissors are shaking, that is a big problem. It has been a few years, but I'm healed from all that. It is still a journey. I still struggle with some fear. I just have to remind myself how far I've come. You can do this. I had a lifetime of trauma! It began with severe child abuse and continued for years into my adult life. God loves you and has a purpose for your life. Your purpose is full of love and light. Anything short of that is not what you were made for. Satan wants to control and lie to us.. we were made for more than that. You truly are loved and have value beyond what you can comprehend right now. You need peace and you need rest. You are loved!❤️

@HappyKat ❤️ thank you so much!!! I needed to hear that. I've been shaking too for the past year and it's unsettling. I talk to Him and I pray for healing regularly. I won't give up. Hugs 🫂

I have PTSD courtesy of my ex husband. Nightmares, flashbacks, hypervigilance, the works. Are you working with a psychiatrist for medication? I'm taking something called Prazosin, it's normally for Blood Pressure but helps stop the bad symptoms. I'm starting to sleep again even. (Also.. Effexor and Buspar)

@Mazzyllene I'm so sorry to hear what you're going thru. I'm having nightmares as well. Yes I see a doctor and I'm on several psych meds including seroquel to help me sleep. I think it's time I find a specialist.
