I feel so lost. I don't know if I want to stop my medication or bring the dosage up. I feel like I'm already dealing with side effects and if I bring them up it might make it worse. On the other hand, I think that getting off of meds can be helpful and my dad said that I could handle things in a more natural way (meditation, natural remedies, etc.) But I've been feeling more depressed and empty. My antidepressants make me feel like a zombie and I don't know if I want to continue using it. If I talk to my dad about this, I already know he's going to say no to bringing the dosage up. If I ask my psychiatrist, of course he's going to encourage it. I don't think he even knows what he's doing to be honest. I'm just so lost and tired of feeling lost. I don't know what to do. Some advice is appreciated.

How long have you been taking it? Maybe you could lower your dose for a while to see if the side effects will go down. If it’s making you go zombie like, I really don’t recommend increasing your dose. Don’t let them increase your dose without taking your side effects seriously. Every psychiatrist I’ve had has been keen to lower the dose or switch my medication if I say the side effects are bad. If you’re new to medication it will take 6-8 weeks to see if this med is helping you. Before then, it’s more about if the side effects are tolerable. If you do decide to stop taking them, be careful and wean yourself off slowly in case you have withdrawals (I kind of don’t trust your psychiatrist to be careful about that)

@JingleP about 7 months or so. I think I'm gonna bring up my side effects with my psychiatrist and see what he says. I don't really trust him either but I've been mentally suffering a lot recently and I have to tell him about it

Maybe you should try the natural remedies they are safer and they might make you feel a bit less tired ❤️❤️
