(A small rant, I just need a place to let it out) My friend makes a joke sometimes where she revokes my permission to talk and see anything in our discord server. It only lasts about a few minutes but every time it happens I feel like breaking down and I don’t know why. I know it’s not a big deal but when it happens I start crying immediately. And I don’t know what to do about it, I try and tell myself to suck it up because it’s such a stupid reason to cry about but something about it makes me feel so left out and alone. Especially if I was in a call, and I see them in there while I can’t join, I feel like they’re talking about me and making fun. I don’t want to say to her either because I for sure know she will call me a baby for getting emotional over some stupid little thing like this. And it is, but I don’t know why I overreact when it happens.

I would explain that it hurts you, and if they say your overreacting, they likely don't care about your feelings, and you deserve bettwr

If she's gonna call you a baby for something that is legitimately upsetting you, even if it seems silly to her...she's not actually being a good friend then, is she? If a "joke" hurts you, and you tell her, and she makes fun of you for it, then good riddance to her and you'll get better friends that will listen Course, if you don't say anything to her, you won't find out, and nothing will change

If your friend is so willing to disregard your feelings, is she really your friend?

@EatenByWormy Don’t be so quick to tell yourself you’re overreacting. You react how you react. I grew up being gaslit for “overreacting,” turns out that some of that is autism (I emote MORE, not less) and just BS. It’s taken a long time to stop doing that as my default.
