How do you tend to take your gabapentin? My doctor recommends I take 300mg in the morning and evening, although personally I don't like physical dependence so I take 600mg tablets as needed (occasionally 300mg, but normally at the pain level that treats I can deal with it without medication or by just smoking cigarettes or vaping ∆8THC). I dislike how long it takes to kick in, though, and normally by the time it does my pain has already decreased to a bearable level and I just end up getting slightly inebriated from it.

I also don't think it's safe to just take as needed, you have to slowly add on and slowly ween off of it because it slows the synapses and the sending of neurotransmitters in your brain so I would talk to your pharmacist about that...

I started with 100mg at night then added morning then midday, then went up with that pattern. I'm now on 600mg 3 times a day and if I wait longer than 5 hours in between, the pain comes back really bad. I'm still in pain with the gabapentin but it takes care of the nerve and shooting pains. I hate being loaded up on so many meds and I'm trying to advocate for laparoscopic surgery because I'm done with just attempting to manage this with birth control, pelvic physical therapy, and tons of meds and still not enough relief. For me, increasing to 600mg did help a lot, though, and 3 times a day is usually what they have you take because it works in your brain
