I respect you all single moms for keeing going, there must be a lot of pressure in your heads but somehow you’re still out there fighting. Not easy, I am a 23 year old guy alone in such a big country, just moved to the US from Italy. Got no friends, no family, no support but I still consider myself lucky compared to someone like you who have children and houses to look after.

I'm a single Mom too and I understand. I recently began seeing a counselor and I started to panic in a session and she calmly said to me, let's remember to stay in the present. We know that in the past and in the future is where we feel anxious. So we need to stay in the present. And I took some deep breaths and I focused for a second. And as I did, she said because right now at this moment you are safe. You are okay. At this moment all is well. And it was like my anxiety went up with a puff of smoke. It really was quite awesome. I had an experience that before. Can you try something like that to see if it will help? Since then I've been trying to stay in the present when I start to feel anxious and I've been able to do it for the most part. That doesn't mean I don't have other things that I'm dealing with, but the anxiety has been much more controllable since that happened and it's been only about 10 days.

Well look at the bright side, you jumped into something despite your brain fog with the risk to fail. Most of the people would not even try. Proud of you

@TheDom98 I think really that's what I'm afraid of. I've been fired a few times for bad job performance but it's just my anxiety. I just can't live with this much pressure for much longer. I would take a different job if it wasn't about money but my bills alone are like 4 k a month. I am so stressed. I have no savings either

@Squishlover take a deep breath in through your nose and hold it. Actually, have you ever tried box breathing? Draw a ⬛ on a piece of paper. Make it as big as you can. Take your finger and put it on the bottom left corner. Now as you drag your finger up towards the top, take a deep breath in through your nose. Now hold your breath as you drag your finger across to the right top corner. Now as you bring your finger down to the bottom right corner blow out through your mouth. Now as you bring your finger to the back to the start, hold your breath again. Do this maybe 3 to 5 times and see how you feel. Stay in the present as much as you can. I'm a single mom too, mine's going off to college in the fall and I spent most of my summer in panic mode and I'm finally learning how to stay in the present.

Hey Squish, It's always hard in the beginning. So you think you can hang on long enough to learn the ropes?

@eyeamus I hope so I'm just so anxious I'm sick. the problem is I'm supposed to act professional and it's hard when my anxiety is so high. plus it's 10 hour days. but I'm a single mom I have no choice. I wish my brain was different

@Squishlover that does sound tough and I sure know the feeling. Can you let the mngmt know you're struggling so they dont just think you can't do the job? (mental health is a a protected population) #singlemomsrock
