I’m a “fibro warrior”, have been for over 20 years, but wasn’t diagnosed until about 12 years. I’ve tried various diets, medicine, therapy, exercise and supplements. While I have finally found a “happy medium” where I can tolerate the pain enough to get out of bed most days (unlike before when I spent more days in bed than out of bed), I still struggle with finding the right exercise regiment that’s tough enough to combat being over weight while not ending up having extreme pain for days after exercising. Has anyone been able to achieve that goal?

Invisible, thank you! I had heard of Epsom salts baths and have been wanting to try them! I’ll be moving to a house that has a tub I can use in a few weeks, really excited about that!

You will hurt a bit at first. If you hurt too much even with daily epsom salt baths cut back. You eat an elephant one small bite at a time. Lol! Baby steps and slow and easy.

Every other day then daily as you can. Meanwhile hot, epsom salt baths are helpful for soreness.

I started slow and did 5 minutes then added as I got stronger.
Invisible, How did you find what your own pace was without over doing? That’s my biggest issue.

Yoga at my own pace is all I am able to tolerate although I used to do water aerobics. The pain is better if I do it in a heated sauna or pool.
Trina, that’s the point I’m at, not unhappy with my weight after lien 30 lbs. but my back would benefit greatly if I lost more. Just found out I have a couple of degenerated discs. Mystical03, I thought yoga would be a really good exercise. But after a session or two I would end up feeling like I had been beaten with a bag of potatoes. Cecilia, being in the water has always been my favorite. Especially considering I grew either in the pool of our backyard, the beach, or out on a boat on a lake. However I now live in the middle of mountains and there’s not always access to water. Lol Bugaboo, I take magnesium, Vitamins D and B, as well as CBD capsules. They help ease the pain some, but not completely.
I'm curious what supplements have helped you? I'll fork out $ for more natural things over prescription medications any day, in a heartbeat.
Exercise for me is also difficult lots of stretching feels great at the moment then it hurts when I stop. Walking helps until my joints and back start aching. But being in the water is the only moment of peace I get. I wish I could just turn into a mermaid 🧜♀️ and live in the water permanently. Getting full body messages helps as well.
I am continuing to struggle as well. I have fibromyalgia and lupus. But I’m going to try yoga at home from my smart tv and I hear it is even more effective than cardio or weights if you do it daily to lose weight.
It’s really hard! I’ve had fibromyalgia for over 10 years. I have definitely put on weight because of lack of exercise. I just can’t do it. I have cut out a lot of my sugar and went mostly gluten free. I have found that has helped me lose weight more than exercise. I’m still overweight but not unhappy about it anymore. I just decided that it is what it is 🤷🏻♀️🤣😊
