      Stress! Family issues in these difficult times causes severe Flares! Hot showers thru the nite, Lyrica, and Hydrocodone. Totally awful cycle which effects me often! The Barometer effects my RA Arthritis! My entire body has a continual dull ache, sharp pain in some joints.

      Too much stress, anxiety and weather changes. If I don't exercise and if I do too much exercise.

      Agree, with the stress

      Sudden weather changes, stress, over activity, lack of sleep, bad diet. Heat of any kind seems to be a BIG trigger of mine.

      Exactly! magbub! Stress, lack of sleep and sugar... really for me any processed foods also.

      Too much inactivity, too much activity, drinking, low barometric pressure, laying on one side of my body too long, standing for more than 30 minutes, sitting in the same position for more than 1 hour, stress, protein powder and drinks, when someone pokes me with a finger that spot will hurt for quite some time, cold weather.

      Stress, certain foods (dairy, simple carbs and sugar, gluten), overworking without breaks, laying or sitting in the same position too long, my period.

      Definitely stress, especially if I have a panic or anxiety attack. I can expect to be in pain and need to take it easy for the rest of the day.

      And weather seems to cause flares. I was told by a nurse that he felt the barometer has something to do with flares. Interesting that one of the posts mentioned the phases of the moon. That may be possible too.

      I have arthritis in I think every joint in my body. I need both knees replaced. I can only walk with a cane or walker and not very far. I have fibromyalgia too. The only time I'm not in pain is when I'm sitting or laying down. I've heard so many horror stories about knee replacements, I'm afraid but I know this must be done soon

      I understand. I have fibromyalgia and RA. Pain just becomes part of life. People don't understand.

        @BJSTREEHOUSE RA is terrible I hear.... ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™

      My flares are usually related to rain moving into the area. Stress also has always been an issue. But now that I am retired, I don't have as much stress. Also, now that I am 70, my aging body has more painful places than ever. In addition to the FM, I also have arthritis in my back. The combo means that I seldom have a pain free day. I don't remember when the last time was.

        @LadyPasta1 โค๏ธ... I am very similar to you .....same age but I guess I hide that well. With all my pain ppl think I am 50. Fibro doesn't show sometimes. ..it's crazy...the worst you get no sympathy sometimes ....

      Not enough sleep, followed by dairy, followed by sugar.

      Stress is what causes most of my flare ups. Right now I'm in a full blown flare up and I'm miserable.

        @dream6284 so sorry. Me too.

      I wish I knew. For me itโ€™s usually increased activity or exercise, but Iโ€™m in the worst flare of my life right now and I donโ€™t know why.

      • fleshpit

        676d

        @Sonder0723 you have to find the right balance of physical activity, it helps if you ease yourself into it little by little and don't try to push yourself too hard. Too much inactivity will have the same effect and make your muscles loose mass, fast.
