so I get really bad panic attacks and therefore I can't drive. Any suggestions for not panicking while driving? please be kind a lot of people are rude because of this one thing I can't do.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having a tough time. Have you tried just starting with baby steps? Like first just sit in the car in the driveway for a few minutes until you feel comfortable. Then back out of the driveway and do the same. Then get a little farther each time, like down the block and so forth. Also a therapist might be able to help you a lot with this.
what @macieann said, is what my therapist told me to do!! i’m still get panic attacks about driving, but after driving a little bit farther each time, i’ve found that sometimes by the time i’m at the top of the street, I want to try going further! just don’t push yourself more than you’re comfortable with, because that could backtrack you. having a water and blowing cool air in your face may help as well!! I wish you good luck! ☺️
I too get this. Mine started at traffic lights and highways. No reasons that I can think it just randomly started about 8 years ago. I get dizzy then panic. It's like the eyes see movement but the body is still. That's the only thing that makes sense.
