Hello, I have severe generalized anxiety disorder. I've had this for many years, along with heart palipitations. Lately my heart palipitations have been horrendous. I've been to the ER and had an ekg and blood work done. Also chest x ray, the doctors say I'm fine but I'm still worried because when I get them I get pretty dizzy, and somwtimes even get chesf pain. It's all very scary. Does anyone else experience this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Some people just get occasional palpitations and things like alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants can make them more likely. However there obviously are a number of heart conditions that can cause them, but the most common ones are pretty much harmless to your physical health and more just uncomfortable. I started going to the hospital for palpitations when I was a teenager but they always subsided by the time I got there and I was told it was just my anxiety and I’m perfectly healthy. Now, at 25, I have had two episodes of my heart getting “stuck” at rates over 200bpm which is terrifying and uncomfortable but I was able to finally prove to doctors what I was experiencing. I’m now diagnosed with SVT, a distressing but generally non-life threatening condition I was likely born with that just means that my heart is electrically goofy. I have a referral for a cardiac ablation to correct it that I can schedule whenever I’d like. This may or may not be what you have, but try to find peace in that palpitations with few other symptoms are probably not going to harm you. In the meantime something you can do to keep your heart nice n healthy is make sure you’re staying hydrated and keeping enough potassium in your diet (plenty of veggies!) When I had my last episode my potassium was slightly low and that could have contributed to it.

I get the same thing been dealing with them for a while now.
I get heart palpitations when ever too stressed, anxious, too excided, even too happy and its honestly awful and Im sorry they get so bad for you because honestly it can be the most scary thing knowing that your heart will just sometimes do that. For me I take an anti anxiety and when I'm on it heart palpitations pretty much are non-existent. If you don't already take one it might be a good thing to try.
I get this and it's very scary.
@Ragdolly66 It really is, I'm always afraid there is something wrong with my heart.
@Kidara I definitely know how you feel. It happens every day. I even try to take it easy for the fear that something is wrong.
Are you ever still having episodes of palpitations when you’re at the hospital or have they subsided by then?
@SundaySmall They usually subside by then. They did catch some on an ekg when I was a teenager and said I was ok.
