@Skywalker And on the other end, someone spacy and a bit technologically illiterate in a coffee shop thinking they hadn't actually posted their question on Alike, having sort of deleted it, but noticing a glitch in the system threw it out to the cosmos regardless. Then a flashback to the dream they'd had the night before of the tales that the wizened locals try to scare you with about the void. The legends say the void is only given to those with the highest emotional intelligence but because the teachers of the past had long since been ostracized by society, there were no longer any Jedi masters to hone the skills of these highly evolved beings. The void is just a misinterpretation of their super powers that need harnessed and processed for good and the benefit of all mankind. The hero vaguely remembers these tales but admits to the coffee cat that jumps up on his table suddenly, that the tales would explain why the void has called again. Then the cat winks. And from there the story plot is set and a commercial break comes on.

I looked in the comments because I didn't know what this meant. It sounds like those dark thoughts that you never tell people you have, and you hardly even tell yourself you have, and that you keep locked in a special place in your brain...guarded by minions. Like the blue people in Thor and the guy with the eyes at the gate with the dreads. This would make an amazing movie. Like, even this post itself would be a great movie opener. I can hear the theme song fading and a close up on someone sitting on their bedroom floor like me, texting this very response to the mysterious question "Have any of you felt the call of the void?"

What is the void?

@Foxhead it's like. When you are walking on the edge of a cliff and a there's a strange pull to walk off the edge. I'm not sure how better to explain
@Zenia like death is calling you?
Yes, it's been a pretty constant companion most of my life. I find talking about it, or making art about it can help put it into context so it doesn't feel as all consuming.
@Magpi I never considered making art about it. I like that idea
Yes everyday. I try to stay away from things that invite that feeling and surround myself with support to distract me.
I haven't. I see you are a new mama. I dont have kids, but my sister struggled with post partum depression and anxiety. And I have a friend with three kids who I help out sometimes, who has been having a really hard time lately, with her mental health. You aren't alone. One day at a time. ❤️ I hope you are well sister. 🙏🙌
