Personally I loke to listen to uplifting or happy music. Sad music will only make it worse but happy music that you enjoy will release the dopamine in your brain and brighten your mood, as least for me it does.

Know that it’s okay to cry as well! It’s a natural release

Non medial reasons is find something that makes you happy and be obsessed with it in a healthy manner as long as it’s a good thing. Take notes on what makes you depressed and what your thoughts are and write them down. Tell these thoughts that they can’t control you and crumple up and burn them.

On a non-medical note, stream of conscious journaling is very helpful for me to sort out my thoughts more so they seem a bit less daunting.

Theres probably a lot more ways than these but these are all I know of, medication, therapy, and electroconvulsive therapy. hope this helped! <3
