Distraction post 1: Who here has discord servers they own? what's it about? what is unique about your server? and does it help with mental health or does it make yours worst?for those who don't own one, do you guys enjoy joining new ones? what do you look for in new servers
Episodic Mood Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
I don’t own the server but I mod a server for trans men and sometimes it makes my mental health worse cuz I have to listen to other people who are much further in their transition than me
I'm sorry that it's been rough for you, just know everyone goes at things there own pace 💙 my discord is Queen-Lucas#4265 if you ever want to vent there about things. I even have a friend making a server that I'm also making into a mental health server so it focuses on both.
What things can you do to help your mental health?
I want to make my own server but I don't have the energy
well maybe if I have the time I can make one for you 💙
I have my own discord servers but they’re not public. I use them like an organised notes app to sort out my thoughts.
I do keep looking for community servers that are small enough to make friends on, but these days they’re either completely inactive or always talking so I can’t really get involved in conversation.
this sounds amazing
I do this too! Discord is great for storing things and notes
I co-own a writing server with my sister. Sadly, it's dead. But we chat in the admin channel all day every day. We do talk about our mental health a lot so it does affect me negatively sometimes.
I'm also part of several other servers for various things. For the most part, the others affect my mental health positively.
When I look for new servers, I like to find smaller servers that are active and allow me to engage with my hobbies. I joined a server for one of my conditions once and found it very unsupportive. So I prefer to just stick to hobby servers.
I'm sorry you found it unsupportive *hugs*. With your writing server try promo bot maybe? Also adding it on serval discord sites can get people in. I also have a writing server that has people but it's a bit dead. Because I spend alot if time on my friend making/mental health server
I've had the same experience on this app for that same condition. There's just not a lot of support for it. 🤷♀️
I will try searching for Discord sites to add the server on, and I'll look into the bot too. Thank you. (And thanks for the hug!)
I once tried to join a mental health server and the mod got mad at me because there was a passcode that changed every day and they forgot to change it for that day so I had used the one from the day before. Another server I was in they wouldn’t stop being racist/ posting pics of various dead people who died in similar ways to the reasons why I have ptsd
I have brain damage anyways so learning a new website is very hard for me and I always feel like I’m doing the wrong thing on discord
if you need help with Discord, you can DM me! There's also plenty of tutorials online for how to do things
I am very sorry you went through that 💔 that is horrible. If you ever try using discord again after that I know couple communities you can join that are better then that 💙 and I also am very good at making servers (made 25 servers so far) and can help you make one as well.
I have joined several for games and illness they help me a lot. Especially bc I can make friends when it's not always possible for me to leave my home.
I understand this 💙 making friends on discord is amazing. I have my own discord server that's for friend making / mental health and I love all the people on it 💙 and my one friend has a server I like also
I am running a Discord server! It's called impractical murder machine, it is about everything, and anyone can join. It's unique because my mom is a semi-active member of the server! Running a server makes my mental health a lot better because I enjoy facilitating fun and interesting interactions between people I've met in all different places!!
