Hi there! I've dealt with CFS for about ten years. Some days I manage it more effectively than others. For me, what works is being diligent about noticing where my energy goes (remembering that mental energy, relational energy, social energy, physical exertion, emotional energy, all count too) and then doing everything possible to plan so I have deliberate "downtime" space very regularly. I'm a pretty scheduled person because of the CFS; spontaneity is fun but often leaves me exhausted for several days or a week because I didn't prep for it ahead of time. Also, I have a list of things I can do that help me feel as "rested" as possible, because a night's sleep often doesn't; things like a meditation practice, or a tapping session, or listening to binaural beats or ambient music, or a slow gentle stretching routine, or sitting outside in sunshine all help provide me with "padding" for when I'm feeling exhausted. šŸ’•

I would say when you can feel a fatigue crash coming, go ahead and stop. Don't try to push through. I've had to learn that the hard way. It's really hard to do and I don't know that it's the solution for everyone, but I've found it helps me not prolong the crash.
