Has anyone found relief by using dietary changes? I have tried many diets and cutting out different things but none of it has worked. My doctor is having me try yet another new diet soon and I’d like to know if it actually helped anyone!

I did Keto and Intermittent Fasting for a year before 2020 came , I lost a grip of weight and did feel better not as inflamed , and a bit better with my CFS a bit and IBS however it definitely wasn't a cure all but it did help

Gluten & processed sugars~ you can also look at a low fodmap diet which helped me as well
@Dragonrollz how quickly did it help?
@Belugabear after a couple days you’ll notice your symptoms not getting any worse but kind of staying the same & after a week it’ll start slowly getting better~ but if your diet is super high in gluten I think it can take slightly longer.. not by much! & with sugars there’s a withdrawal so for both add a couple more days
My mom follows Dr Brooke Goldner's plans (vegan, with extra rules) and her inflammation is gone! I followed it for a while too and it really helped me feel better, but I had to stop because restricting my diet like that was making my eating disorder go crazy.
@KirbyWirby that’s awesome I’m so glad she found something that works for her! Thank you so much for sharing!
You can order food allergy blood tests online for over 100 foods. Takes a few weeks but if you do one and cut out your sensitivities from your diet it can help SO much
@Anth I talked to my doctor about that and she said they aren’t really accurate, and once you heal your gut a lot of the allergies go away. But I’m curious to try one after the healing because maybe I have an actual allegory!
Gluten free is really helping and only drinking A2 milk/going dairy free
@MaKenzie_G12 do you have allergies to these things as well? Or just cut it out for fibro?
@Belugabear I actually never had an allergy to those things until my chronic illnesses started kicking in full force. Despite my new found allergies I just honestly feel better and less lethargic being gluten free and dairy conscious
Gluten free helped me.

@PondWater do you have an allergy or intolerance? Or just help with the fibro symptoms?
When my mom's symptoms got really bad she lost 100 lbs because she developed PTSD from eating and getting sick. She started cooking very bare bones and working things in slowly. But now I basically spend a decent bit of time making so many things from scratch. Preservatives ended up being her biggest issue. That and artificial nutrients that get pumped into process foods. It's been a fun experience making things from scratch but honestly it takes a lot of time. I'm very passionate about cooking and have been for years. It's helped me figure out a proper diet for my husband's stomach ulcer. Herbs and medicinal eating is a really cool subject to look into.
@Niz thank you so much! Do you avoid anything other than processed foods? Or is it mostly just cooking for yourself?
@Belugabear honestly I try to avoid too much pork and dairy. I can do cheese sometimes but eggs and milk are complete nos. Lol I basically follow a vegan diet except I add in meat because I need the animal based iron and protein. Gluten is a big one but I've found if it's home made I can eat it. My husband makes sourdough and I have no issues with that. But store bought makes me inflamed.
