It's my first 4th being away from my family and I'm struggling. I'm still early in the process of making sense of sensations and what may be triggers and tracing it all back to cause. I have my mental health team, with meds and therapy in addition to learned skills, grounding meditation, keeping busy, etc. Instinct has it to talk to my mother, but she has invalidated me, plus, she'll just tell me I only have positive memories of the 4th (which is what I recall currently) but I have also been unearthing other horrible memories, which she would also not believe. I haven't had any experience with violence directly in that sense, so I'm still out on what's triggering me. Just would be nice to have some exchange and maybe talk to someone who understands what I might be going through. TIA
Tia, I'm SO SORRY for what you've gone through. Let me ask you...what are 5 of your FAVORITE things in the world (things you HAVE TO HAVE)? One of my TOP 5 favorite things is MUSIC! Music is very healing...there's music for every emotion. I would die without music.
The reason I bring this up is because I want you to start finding pleasure in AT LEAST 1 thing that you can't live without. That can be a daily therapy and healing. This can give you something to look forward everyday. And you call the shots. Mine is MUSIC (Music+gummyđ”â)!!! Music is #life! I can recommend some really good tunes from various genre.
I'm always open for music recommendations. Indeed music can be healing and on such a universal field. I have mine but I also like exploring and being exposed to new things.
