Lost with Undiagnosed BPD

✋ got approved for DBT therapy for bpd, but they said they aren’t interesting in diagnosing me, only interested in treating the symptoms, but it is important to me to be diagnosed as it would be so validating. But guess I will have to go private if I want a diagnosis?

Here and stuck with a psychologist who doesnt like labels so wont diagnose me despite knowing I have it or something similar :/

I have diagnosed BPD, but wanted to share some advice. I recommend searching for a specialist for diagnosis, or at least someone who has prior experience in the disorder. There are websites online where you can put in your zip code and what kind of therapist you're looking for, what that therapist treats, etc and the website will list all providers near you that fit your criteria.

Heyo, undiagnosed bpd here too. I'm trying my best to reach out to friends about it, and I'm going to talk to my doctor soon. Other than that I'm pretty lost too

focus on therapy and see someone who can tell you for sure whether you have it – even therapists and medical professionals cannot diagnose themselves
