hi got diagnosed with mild scoliosis around February last year. I have a feeling that I have had it since I've been about 15 though as always had back problems. how I found out I had scoliosis was I had a fall at work and had to have an x-ray to make sure I had not broken my back or damaged it by the fall .I am looking at getting advice from people in a similar situation to me

I was diagnosed as a child 30+ years ago and my spine was 'fused' but the best advice I can give to you is to concentrate on strengthening your core muscles as much as you can now, you'll need them to help keep your spine straight in the future. If you lose those muscles, you'll suffer with pain later on.

I was diagnosed at the age of 28 purely because someone went into the back of my car resulting in me having to see an orthopaedic consultant because of severe back pain. He turned round and said "oh this injury really isn't going to help your scoliosis" er what? I'd had back pain ever since I could remember but no one ever pointed out until then that actually I'm shorter by an inch on left side due to the severe curvature of my spine. I'm now waiting for major surgery to fuse half of my back.
