They have relatively new cgrp medications for both prevention and acute treatment now, or perhaps a nasal spray like zomig might work differently? I can imagine that new infusion vyepti might have different results than the typical go-to medications, but then again, I'm no neurologist. Good luck finding a treatment that works for you!šŸ’•

Did you try botox or emgality?

Hi Rose! Here are some things that might be useful: 1. Aimovig or another similar monthly injection šŸŒŗ 2. Botox injections (I have never tried this but I heard that it can be very effective) šŸŒ» 3. An IcyHot roll-on or a similar brand (be careful about this one though, certain kinds of these make my skin red). I apply some on my head where the pain is and it's good for temporary numbing relief. šŸŒ· 4. The daith piercing (I have not tried this one either and whether it really works or not is controversial, but if you're desperate it might be worth a shot.) šŸŒ¹ 5. Aculeif wearable acupressure. You can find them on Amazon. You just put it on your hand and it targets a pressure point that is supposed to relax tension around the head. I have one and use it almost daily. It doesn't usually get rid of the pain but it does usually lesson it. šŸŒø Hope this helps! šŸ˜Š

I understand! Same here! Iā€™ve noticed that having chest/shoulder stretches really help the tension. Usually I take a really long hot shower, as the hot water relaxes my muscles and it helps stimulate sensation on the rest of me so the pain point of my head isnā€™t so localized. I recommend getting a backpod or any sort of generic version of it. My chiropractor recommended it to me and along with strengthening exercises, itā€™s really helped. I wonā€™t lie, it will be very painful at first. But itā€™s SOOO worth it in the long run. I also take emgality and do the anti depressant paired with supplements (magnesium, CoQ10, riboflavin) and I think all of this combined has really helped me. I was out for two years and couldnā€™t work because of this. Now I can mostly get through a workday thatā€™s also a migraine day. I still definitely have my bad days, but thatā€™s inevitable. Really really try to relax and stretch your neck and shoulders. Sleep with your pillow slightly lower to where itā€™s cushioning your neck and NOT your head. This will help rest and align your spine properly.

@friesandrupees thank you but I have tried this daily for the last 3 years.

I too have an immunity to pain medicine and local anesthesia (I have to be put under for dental procedures because novocaine doesnā€™t work) Black out curtains are fabulous! Amazon sells these ice packs that look like beanies. They put pressure on your head while icing it! My sister bought us both some. My neuro says a gallon of water a day, exercise before bedtime and at least 7 hours of sleep every night which is ok to induce with melatonin. I have high anxiety and ocd so I have to do all the tricks to calm my brain

@Kriss10 I have talked to 4 neurologists in the last year. Tried everything.

Caffeine and water are your friends!!! Also a neat trick I noticed is if I give my self brain freeze it can halt or dull a migraine for about an hour!

@Meggy2327 already tried caffeine and brain freezes. I just can't get rid of them

@A_Rose maybe a hot bath might help? It could be a sinus issue
