Hello! Does anyone have experience of being on income protection insurance long-term? I know I’m in such a fortunate position as my company offer it as standard, but I can’t stop feeling so guilty… I’ve stopped posting anything about my life on social media and don’t like to go out much in case my co-workers see me and think “how can she do X and not work?” I work with computers but have chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, ADHD, and bad anxiety. I returned to work for a brief time last year and it made everything (especially the migraines) flare up again and I missed a lot of work before having to go off on long-term sick all over again. I’d love to hear how other people deal with this. I loved my career but just can’t find a way for my health issues and career to co-exist. Thanks!

@Itsbee I am starting fresh in a new place and slowly gaining control of myself and my environment. I hope you do better. Just know that we're here for you.

I was in the same boat a few years ago. I became nearly a hermit because of it. My advice is not to shy away from your social activities and friends. Being closed off just makes it worse. Ultimately, my disabilities and my work could not coexist. I was left alone due to social isolation. If you find a way to make your work and conditions coexist, that's great. If not, you can't afford to have your activities curtailed. Believe me, you don't want to get isolated from your life.
@faerywyrm Thank you! I’ve been finding it harder to get out in recent months, so have been trying to find local in-person groups/classes to join. I’m sorry you were isolated - I hope things are better for you now. I’m definitely heading in that direction - so will take your advice ❤️
