Been struggling with IBS and cramping since I was 15. Has anyone found any changes in diet, lifestyle changes, or medications that have helped them?

reducing my dairy/lactose intake helped me a lot as it caused flare-ups. keeping a food log & writing my symptoms (if any) after eating helped me to figure out what foods caused me the most pain.

I found they worked for a bit but eventually stopped working as well. Reglan worked the best but after being on it for 4 months I developed TD and taken off of it cold turkey. I've tried ginger extract capsules that helped for awhile.

It’s a chore, but I found relief from my IBS-c using these… Prevention: I do all of these at the same time Gluten-free, Lactose-free, Limited onion, Limited garlic diet (derived from lowFODMAP); Exercise a few times a week (I usually walk, and sometimes skate and rock climb); Fiber supplement 3x per day Treatment: I use only 1-3 of these at a time depending on my symptoms Abdominal heating pad Light exercise/ go for a walk Miralax powder TUMS or liquid anti acid (depending on the urgency) Drink lots of water It’s a lot of work but it has made IBS a lot more bearable

Simple exercise such as going for a walk everyday really helps me. It's hard to get motivated to do it because you don't feel good/cramping can make you bedridden but I've seen a huge difference and it overall seems to my whole GI system really happy

Low FODMAP diet helps as a guideline. I try to test and eliminate any foods that causes a flare up.
