Not a question. But my nightmares were so bad this morning that I woke up 2 hours earlier than normal, in a full blown anxiety attack. Nightmares and anxiety aren't unusual for me, but today they were bad enough for me to vomit from it... After a decade of Crohns disease, I almost never vomit- especially not from emotions. I'm constantly surprised by the gut-brain connection, I suppose

Honestly, I am so so so happy to read this because the same thing happens to me. There is not a single night I do not have nightmares and I remember every single one when I wake up. This just makes me feel like I'm not as alone as I thought. I've read it's a symptom and seen representations on tv, but they are not accurate and I do not know anyone who personally has PTSD related nightmares and understands the level of terrible these types of dreams are to live with. Thanks for just posting this.

Absolutely. There are more neurons in your gut than in your brain, so it totally makes sense that their wires get crossed often. Symptoms in one will cause symptoms in the other. But even though I know this from a biological standpoint, it still shocks me at times

I don't have Crohns, but I do have anxiety that causes me to be nauseous and sometimes throw up. It really is amazing how connected mental and physical things can be.
