does anyone else with chronic pain have a weird relationship with painkillers? i dont normally take any for pain that im used to, but when i have a headache or pain elsewhere i complain about it and my partner tells me to take painkillers. i think im worried that my tolerance will build up if i take painkillers for my chronic pain, and i forget its an option.

I don't take them due to one of these: - doesn't work for me - possible interaction with my other meds - if I take them too much if it will build up in my system and hurt me long term I use ice/heat and brace/splints alot. I push through most of it to the best of my ability. (Until I find a better coping strategy)
I’m the same way! I’m so used to pain that when I have extra pain (like headache stomach ache etc) I don’t usually think to or want to take meds for it. Maybe some home remedies like tea or sprite or soup etc but yeah usually other people have to remind me that pain meds exist (besides the ones I take daily)
