Pristiq is the only medication that helped my anxiety a lot I tried weaning off it a couple months ago because I was feeling better and it all backfired on me. I feel so bad not being on it it’s keeping me from leaving the house. My dr wants me to go back on it I just hate the thought that I NEED this medication to live..I really wanted to be med free :(

I felt the same way with my Lexapro and it was the wrong decision. Mistakes happen, and as long as we learn from them, it's totally okay! Needing to be on medication is perfectly fine. Some people need it and others don't. If your brain can't make your own happy chemicals, store bought is fine!

I recently tried to get off of my cymbalta and ever since I tapered down I have been a mess. Like a rollercoaster. It is hard for me to accept that I need them, but I’m going back up on the dose.

It’s ok to need an anxiety med. you wouldn’t take medication away from someone with diabetes would you? They can’t just “tough it out” and neither can you. Your medication is no different—it just helps your brain have the right amount of chemicals. Bodies are imperfect things that need help. Get back on that med! Your doctor knows what they’re talking about.

We don’t hate our bodies for needing water or food- don’t hate it for needing a medicine either.

My boyfriend is on Pristiq and it seems to be helping him. There's nothing wrong with having to be on meds. If it helps, then that's what matters

I guess its that I don't feel it makes enough of a difference to my mental wellbeing and quality of life for me to be completely dependent on it

I’m glad it works for you! I am the same way with my meds but I have just decided it’s worth it to stay on them until I can get even more things figured out. It isn’t your fault you need them :)

I used to feel the exact same way until I really sat down and went "..well whats so wrong about needing this?"
