i feel so fucking terrible. I have terrible allergies and today I have almost l passed out multiple times, and almost threw up. and i am going to get kicked out of colorguard and 2 of my honors classes. I'm becoming a failure again. I can't fix it either, today is the last day to get things turned in. and I did. I just failed. I've failed them. why can't I not fail for once?..

I am so sorry, you must be in a lot of pain. I’ve been through times in my life where I constantly felt like a failure, like when I kept failing my classes and dropped out of college. One thing that helps me now is something my therapist taught me, which is to try and take an objective look at what you’re telling yourself. We tend to make huge assumptions based on little evidence in our self-talk, and seeing those logical fallacies can be a super healthy reality check. For example: “why can’t I not fail for once?” Objectively, you arent failing at everything. You succeeded in waking up today! You succeeded in reaching out for help, which is huge. And, it sounds like you turned your assignments in! That’s amazing! Be patient with yourself and just remember that this too shall pass. It sounds so stupid, but things in our lives usually work out in the end. Eventually, you will be so happy with your life that you’ll forget all about color guard and honors classes. I wish you the absolute best and hope you know that you are not a failure! 💝

Since it sounds like you’re in high school I just have to say that you need to put your needs first. Also, truly understanding your autonomy and authority over your own actions takes a long time, it did for me. Just because an authority figure asks you to do something, you don’t have to do it. Especially if your request is reasonable. If you’re going to pass out from being too hot, anxious or overstimulated and you need to excuse yourself, just do it. Ask forgiveness and not permission if you need to. You’re NOT becoming a failure. I used to feel like that too. Well, I still do but it’s not true. Success is completely subjective, it’s not a scientific measurement. My boyfriend always says “we’re just flesh suits,” meaning that if your flesh suit isn’t working properly and you need to make an adjustment, you have the freedom and power to do that. Both your conscience and your flesh suit are trying their best to live in a strange world that it’s completely ill-equipped for. Trust me, your coach doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, don’t let them exert this power over you. Listen to authority figures but if what they’re saying is untrue, unfair, unhelpful or assumptive, then you don’t have to listen.

When I was in band I use to be the same work till I blacked out even if it was 95°F. But I learned sometimes you have to just go okay I am to hot I need to sit down and if the couch/band director ask you what your doing just tell them I am about to pass out. I use to always carry an extra bottle of water not to drink but to pour on myself to cool me down

@Marcaroni22 I wish I could do that, but if I did I would likely need to run laps for it.

@Max_F you shouldn't be afraid to take care of yourself and if you are bring it up to the principal because that is unacceptable

I think their is something over the counter. Check it out. Also try the tapping solution. Also if you guys have Medicaid everything is free. You pay nothing for meds or counseling. Ask mom if you can talk to family Dr about all your symptoms. Zoloft will fix you right up

@Blondiegirl we use a veteran insurance, both my parents are veterans and I wish that pills would work like that, but often they just make you feel numb (that is what friends that I know take pills such as Zoloft say)

When you feel like passing out. Drink water. Or leave the room you are in different scenery. Put cold cloth behind neck wrist face. Talk to yourself down!!!!!

@Blondiegirl I was outside and there was no way I was going to ask to go inside in case my coach decides to question me till I actually passed out, I just asked to go off to the side and they allowed it.

Are you on an antidepressant? Certainly you arnt a failure but you lack self confidence. I used to be there. No more

@Blondiegirl no I'm not, I haven't been able to go to a therapist due to me being a minor and I don't think my parents have to money for it.
