I am convincing myself that it's okay to go to sleep I have tomorrow off, I don't need to do my hobbies right now, if I go to sleep now I can do them all day tomorrow If I don't go to sleep now, I will sleep all day instead of being able to do anything I am too tired to enjoy my hobbies right now, I have worked all day, I need to rest My dog is sleeping soundly next to me, my tossing and turning will bother her If the apocalypse starts it will make no difference if I'm awake or not Why can't I turn off my brain?

Thanks for checking in, it's been better since I've been working more so I'm more tired when getting in bed. I also got an extra fan and stopped listening to music, I thought it was helping because it would distract me from thinking but it was also distracting me from sleeping. Lastly, my 2 new methods of trying to get myself to sleep is just counting seconds, and imagining I'm literally sinking into the bed and I can feel the full weight of my body. I also got a new medication for anxiety when it's so bad that none of that works, if nothing else a couple of those and 50mg of hydroxyzine knocks me out cold. I hope you're living and sleeping well too ❤️

Hey there, how has your sleep been since you posted this? I can definitely relate to the struggle of being unable to turn my brain off. Racing thoughts are a huge pain. And yeah, even when all I have ahead of me is doing my hobbies, it can still be tough for me to convince myself to sleep, too. I've heard that doing calming activities before bedtime can help with shutting your mind off but I know it's tough, especially during nights when there's a lot of stuff going on in your head. Hope some good sleep finds its way to you, good luck with finding what works for you
