Has anyone had experience of being forced to do a treatment they didn't want, even if they're an adult (I'm 26, but I can't afford the flight home)? I was willing to go to another treatment center closer to home, but the treatment center I'm at went behind my back and talked to my parents (they had ROIs) and convinced them basically to cancel the ticket and make me stay. My mom was supportive of what I wanted, but my dad just thinks he's doing what's best for me which is infuriating because he has no mental health conditions and doesn't understand! I REALLY need someone to talk to right now. Please šŸ™

I was put on adhd bc my aunt didn't like how happy I was and how much I talked, eventually I picked up on the symptoms and it really sucks

That could 100% be considered malpractice and you can sue for that. I'm not sure where you are but if you're in the USA if you say no to treatment they can't force you unless a close family member signs you over to the hospital but they can ONLY do that if you are a danger to yourself or others or if you are incomprehensive and can't make decisions for yourself because your mental state is that bad. So if you are in the USA you can and should sue for malpractice.

@royalty the problem is they say I have a choice, but I l literally don't because there's no way to get home, so I'd be stuck in California (I'm from Utah)

@TheUltimateGinge Even if they say that I'm sure if you find some physical evidence that they actually aren't you could take it to court
