You need meds pronto! No you needed them a year and a half ago. Being off meds for you like me can result in death. Now go do it!

I struggled with suicidal ideation and depression from the age of 6 to my current age, 22. If i could go back and talk to myself, Id say this. Its okay to feel terrible. To feel lazy and hate yourself. Its okay to think people hate you, and to have trouble thinking. These are just thoughts and feelings. You may not be able to control them. But you can control how you resoond to them. You dont have to listen to intrusive thoughts. When your brain says, "itd be easier to kill yourself, its not gonna get better" tell ur brain to go eat some stinking dirt. You are a human being who deserves love and a chance at a nice life. You have the right to love yourself, despite every flaw. You deserve it, because you are human, and all humans deserve it. Everyone has flaws, even if you only see your own. They are not is severe as you think. Its only because you are in your own shoes that you hate them. Loving yourself is a very very difficult choice to make. Its like becoming friends with an enemy, or learning to like something. You have to say to every bad thought, "that may not be true, i just feel that way. Its okay to feel that way. Why do i feel that way? Why did that hurt me? Is that a rational thought? Is it healthy, does it make me happy?" Drink water, even though its hard. Exercise in a way that makes you happy, like dancing, or stretches, or skating. Whatever makes you HAPPY. If you dont take care of yourself in a way you enjoy or isnt manageable, you will stop doing it. Light a candle while you clean, so you associate that good smell with cleaning. Put on a nice playlist when you have work to do, so that the music puts you in the right headspace for it. Its okay to have "silly" or childish coping skills, like fidget spinners or little toys that help you manage stress or anxiety. When you are sad, fingerpaint, put on lotion, wrap yourself up and allow yourself to feel, but not fixate. Write feelings on slips of paper and fold them into stars, put them in a jar. Every single on of those stars is a time you chose to make something instead of letting bad thoughts control you. Allow you to take time for yourself. 15 minutes, an hour, what ever you have. Brush your teeth, comb your hair, and straighten your blankets. Make rituals for yourself, be it prayer, singing, cleaning, folding laundry. Routine helps you feel human. Take every task little by little. Only do what you can, that is enough. Love yourself like you would love a pet. You deserve that devotion. I hope you find any solice in these words, and that i havent hurt you, or triggered you. Feel free to talk to me, i might not respond right away, but you can just leave whatever feelings there you want. You have people who love you. I love you, because you are you. Remember to take care of yourself.

If lexapro isn’t helping, you should talk to your doctor about trying a new antidepressant. Everyone reacts differently to medications, so you may need to try a few until you find the right one. Please don’t give up, you can make it through this!

It does. Around this time 2 years ago I was on the verge of suicide and now I’m so astonished by the fact I would’ve missed all the greatness that has come. Everyone’s journey is different. Self love/confidence/acceptance was/is a big part of my journey.

I use Lexapro and it has improved everything. No depression or thoughts of suicide

Me too for 6 years, I won't give up and quit no matter how hard and dark my world is. Reach out to your Doctor and therapist, keep holding onto hope and believe in yourself that you can do it and remember you are NOT alone, you are worth fighting for.
