Feeling Alone in the Hospital

I got sepsis and an autonomic nervous system issue as secondary complications to two infections that resolved. 2 ER visits and a current hospital stay later....I keep looking at the empty chairs across from my bed. it feels like such a metaphor for my life. I hear the visitors in other rooms. my important people know I'm here, but most of the day is this solitude. I'm so tired and so alone most of the time. Emotionally I feel like someone curled up in the cabinet under the sink. I'm overstimulated. I wanna take all the wires off. I want the tachycardia to go away. I want a family that cares I'm here. I want no more empty chairs in my life. But those of us in life who accrue disadvantages in life tend to accrue more.
