Anyone with primary adrenal insufficiency who is on disability and can give advice? I'm 32 and I've been thinking about going on disability because of the debilitating fatigue and malaise that comes with this condition. I'm currently still working, but I miss a lot of work and my bosses arent willing to accommodate me. The people around me dont really get what i go thru with this condition. My bff generally attributes my fatigue to depression, coworkers attribute my absences to laziness. I just feel stuck. I want to get on disability, but I dont really know the first thing about it. Like how am I supposed to survive while waiting for it? Please help!

I was thinking of going on disability because I couldn't get a job. I got doordash to keep me occupied. The only thing that worked was help anxiety aka Seroquel which I take at night. I just want to work a real job and do doordash on the side. It's been very difficult and imagine for others.

My story. I was diagnosed with a primary adrenal deficiency in 2007. I was born with ADHD and my Anxiety just got worse. I take my medicines like I'm supposed to. Every year I would feel bad. I would feel nauseous, fatigued, tired, and vomit. I would go to the hospital. I was told that my Addison medicine was good and controlled. I was then given quetiapine fumarate aka sequel for the Anxiety because I was wide awake at night and tired in the morning. I felt so much better. I do get dry mouth and deal with IBS. I felt like I was always off before. I had no control over it. I was just off. I went for interview and fainted. It was awful and as you guessed it I was not given the job. I do door dashing to keep my mind at ease. I just wanted a good life. Something that is manageable not this stuff.

Zinc has been very beneficial for me. I use the one that dissolves under the tongue. Just be careful with Vit D it can cause side effects if you don’t need as much as your taking. I got tested and was over the limit. I was only taking a cple months but was starting to see some negatives like gaining weight, bloated and very fatigued. My dr also tested me for EBV because of the fatigue and I was positive. I’ve researched it and found it can cause thyroid issues. I started his treatment of B-12 shots and mega Vit C and today is day 4. I’m starting to have more energy. I just started licorice root liquid under the tongue also. Research EBV. Many people have it and certain illnesses can activate or reactive it. You may need to get tested. The chronic version can affect organs.

@Deerma I've had a lymphnode that pretty much stays swollen, so that may be what it is. I have an ultrasound for it next week.

For the most part, I do all that. I haven't cut out sweets, breads and pastas, but I do avoid fast food. For inflammation I drink golden milk or add turmeric and a pinch of pepper to some hot chocolate. When my kidney disease had my ankles swollen to the size of softballs, turmeric was the only thing that helped because I was unable to take medication for the swelling. Had my hormones checked last time I went to my endocrinologist, about 2 months ago. Everything came back normal. I've been thinking about trying the Mediterranean diet. It's much healthier and less inflammatory the the regular western diet. I grew up on home cooked southern food, so that's mostly what I cook lol. It's probably not the healthiest though. I recently got a puppy so I'd have to go outside more and be a bit more active, so that's helped a little with both fatigue and depression. I'll have to try the vitamin d3 though. Thank you so much. It makes me feel a bit better just knowing that someone out there understands the struggle.

@unicornlady90 Vitd3 and k2 helps your body to absorb it.80% of Americans have D deficiency . Will keep you from getting sick and decrease your chances of getting covid.Everyone around me got it.Even my neighbor got it and died. My health was worse then hers and I'm 10 yes older then she was. That's what they give covid patient's when they go to the hospital. It's very hard to over do it on vit d3. The sun 1rst is so great even 10 mins daily. Most of us don't get much sun. Your on the right track. I look forward to hearing how things go.

@unicornlady90 You R Amazing! I've been learning that my health is getting better with one thing at a time. Change is necessary to heal.. It's difficult I know because it affects everything in your body. Your hormones have them checked I suggest. Your sugar and BP. Not to mention your brain and emotions. Yes apply for disability. Easier to get it with depression. In the mean time do a anti inflammatory diet. I cut out sweets ,breads and pastas. Make changes 1 at a time. Realize steroids are important but diet is what will change how you feel. Getting out and walking in the sun. Vitd3 is very important to take if you don't get out much.Hope you feel better. Fruits and vegetables I've come to crave. I take steroids but they are very hard on your body. Vitd3 I take when stress dosing first then my steroids if I have too.

Also, I've been dealing with this pretty much since I was born. I have panhypopituitarism. I guess I'm just tired of struggling.
