After being diagnosed with PTSD, I am currently undergoing a form of therapy called CPT. It is the most intense form of therapy I have experienced, and I have yet to meet anyone else who also went through it. Has anyone here went through CPT and can share their experience?

✋Yes, I did. And I agree. It's very intense. I'm a repeat survivor of sexual assault, and had been in and out of therapy and meds for the past 12-13 years. My therapist suggested we try it, utilising an app designed for veterans with PTSD (though about 95% of it is relatable to anyone with PTSD, not just those who served). It was hard to do. A lot of self-reflection and journaling. A lot of questions aimed to make you reevaluate how you see yourself and your journey. And then after that was done, an opportunity to self-reflect again with a new approach. Each session I would have to take the same assessment to determine where my symptoms were at, at that time. Then you can look at how you've done longitudinally, of course. My therapist was confident that it would help me, and that it had a very high success rate. Some parts were harder than others, depending on the subject matter being discussed. I'm not one to really ever complete things (I tend to get highly discouraged easily and quit) but I did manage to complete this. A moment to be happy with, indeed. Yes, it's supposed to take roughly 12 weeks, but hopefully your therapist will also reassure you that if it takes longer, that's okay, too. You've got to go at a pace that benefits your journey. ❤️ The app that I used, by the way, was called PTSD Coach, if you want to check it out. Sending you love and support, Friend! 🤗
