Questioning My Identity: End of Year Mental Check-In

As this year comes to an end, I'm finding myself questioning my identity and where I am in life... I do this every year,like a mental check in, if you will.... well this year is different. I'm having a hard time answering my own questions, constantly second guessing myself... I don't know why I'm posting this, maybe for validation? or just to get it out there, idk ....

      I hate the “new year new me” thing. You can change your life any day, any month, any year. Don’t think of it by the arbitrary calendar scale. It’s not like we all turn into different people as soon as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve!! As long as you’re making progress and doing what you need to do for YOURSELF, you’re doing just fine in my book 🙌

      As an academic, not all questions have their answers. At least you have questions and that is a good start. These fake year endings have no sense at all. I still didn’t lose the 20 KG 🤗

      I have been doing and feeling the same. I kind of think mine is related to the world getting back to normal after COVID-19 and I'm still stuck at home. The question of what the future holds is scary for me. Which makes me really question my identity, ability to contribute/be productive, and worth.
