does anyone else struggle with fear of moving out of your parents house? i’m 24, and i feel like i should be on my own by now with a fancy job. but i’m still living with my mom and dad. i want to go to school for art, but i’m so beyond scared to leave my parents. i’ve only been away from them for a month, and that was when i was a child.

I used to feel the same way but I'm glad I'm taking things at my own pace. You are on your own timeline and will move out when you're ready. Also, like the person before me said, try taking small trips away from your parents and maybe slowly make them longer. It will be a big change but change isn't always bad. I know you can do it and I'm cheering you on! <3

I’m a caregiver so it’s literally not possible at the moment. Best thing you can do is plan off ramps and “escape” routes. One day it’ll be feasible

I feel like this too. Brain always tells me I’m useless. You’re not alone 💕

At 29 I still live with my parents, but I have been on a few holidays with friends without them. I recommend going for a weekend away somewhere nearby so if something goes wrong you aren't too far from help and building up to something bigger maybe but honestly so many people still live with their parents even without medical issues (only 1 of 6 of my healthy friends has their own place) because of the current economic situation so don't be too hard on yourself 🤗
