my fibromyalgia is so bad that i cannot keep a job. i have had several jobs the past year that i genuinely just couldn’t keep because of my pain. it is so stressful. im always extremely open about my condition and days and hours that i can do with no trouble. but even then, sometimes its too much. i hate it. im 19 and im basically physically unable to work. i don’t know what to do. i cant get help from doctors because i dont have anymore insurance after turning 19. i cant get medicine, because im “too young” as my doctor tells me. i genuinely am at a loss ive completely given up. if anyone, anyone at all has any sort of advice it would be really appreciated

Almost cried reading this... I'm in the same boat, a little older and in the UK but it's so difficult being young and so physically restricted I feel like no one understands. Here if you need to talk ❤️

i’ve been dealing with chronic pain since i was around your age. i’m 24 now. it’s so hard. if you’re indigenous, any percentage, you can go to a tribal office that accepts outsiders and they’ll help you out a lot.

I know that struggle all too well. Are you in the US? Because you can legally stay on your parent’s’ insurance until you are 26 now. You can also apply for your own insurance through healthcare.gov which is income based, and as others have said, might lead to Medicaid for you. You are very young, but if you are unable to work, you might want to consider filing for disability. Unfortunately, your benefits would be based on how much you’ve paid into the system so far, so it might not be much, but it might be worth looking into. I too have fibromyalgia and a host of other issues that make it impossible for me to work in the field I was in or in any field in a full time capacity. It took 3 years, but I finally got disability benefits which has made a huge difference in my life. I’m over 55, so different rules apply for me that frankly made it easier, but you might want to check it out. Sending gentle hugs your way.

Have you applied for state insurance? Go to your local social services office and they should be able to get you some help not only with medical but maybe also with food support if you live alone. If you have any other questions, please feel free to message me. I will help you the best I can
