Frustrated with Autoimmune: Need to Vent

Yes, I do. I can feel frustrated and depressed, and wish I could be “like everyone else.” Many times I’ve wanted to give up. But know that it’s completely normal to feel angry about your condition. I’ve found that opening up to those closest around me helps me carry this burden, and it’s so important to keep your doctor/medical team in the loop to let them know how you’re doing on the mental and emotional side; our conditions can take their toll on us, and we benefit greatly from this kind of support. Getting in to see a counselor specializing in people with chronic health issues is one of the best steps we can take to take care of ourselves!
