I just recently realised that song is basically a "tell us youre autistic without telling us youre autistic." Every line can relate, ARFID is even in there.

Exactly!! My mom was telling me about how she had a toothache and I cracked a smile. I immediately felt bad and tried to tell her I was sorry. Also I did laugh at a funeral once. It was basically my grandpa and while everyone was crying I was just staring imagine the casket with a faint smile..

@Lunar_Moss "I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral, can't understand what I mean, well you soon will..." 🤣 Seriously. I smile at the WORSTTT times. So much trouble from this. It's basically the reaction when I don't know how to react, which is basically anything trauma for someone else
For me it's the realization that most don't think the way I do/ they don't do what I do. Sometimes it's super frustrating because I find it hard to explain things vocally and I often feel bad for not being able to express himself. Also I smile at inappropriate times especially when something bad happens and it gets me into a lot if trouble and my list of foods I can't eat because of certain ingredients is getting longer. Like I don't like bacon or eggs,
Social interaction is the most difficult part for me. I’ve ruined many jokes and conversations
What @Logical_Anomaly came to the conclusion of was a huuuge helping factor for me after my dx and recognition that a) I'm not depressed—I'm 33-year-burned-out, and b) it's okay for *me* to be this way.
Low threshold for irritation is looked at SO SIDEWAYS by this box of a world the NTs have built and forced us into. It causes soooo many issues just because we're expected to bottle things up. It doesn't help that the whole situation is ironic because your release of your bad energy from the irritation to then be rid of it and continue moving on in your activities doesn't bother you at all and is actually a quite comforting release, but is the exact thing that makes the NTs feel uncomfortable and start to stare at you like you have a problem.

Many things, but by far hypersensitivity for me. It stacks onto other disorders and makes me feel so overwhelmed then BPD kicks in and I'm just mad at every single tiny sensation and little nuisance type thing like it is the reason I'm angry. Smudges on my glasses to my excema getting itchy anything can just send me over the edge

It's hard to say. I think that depends on the person for sure. For myself, I have a lot of sensory issues low self-esteem, anxiety, depression. I often have thought why can't I do this when they can, or I think you're overreacting to something that is bothering no one else. I have to consistently remind myself I'm different than NT's and it's okay, it's not that I'm bad or that autism is inherently bad, it's that the world is not made for us but we still can make it a better place.
