I have been struggling with body image and I want to look like the perfect girl stereotype but my body just will not cooperate with that type of body style and I honestly just don’t know how to get my confidence up and be confident with my body and how I look

I've had to address this with myself because I've had such fluctuations with my weight. Here's a few things that have really helped me: Do you feel good in your clothes? I like to take an honest look at the clothes I have and how they fit/feel. I bag up everything that doesn't fit/feel good right now and store it in the back of the closet or work to donate/sell it. (I also do this with out of season clothes). It's important to me that I feel good when I'm looking at my wardrobe. It's often the first thing I do in a day and looking at clothes that no longer fit, or are out of style, makes me feel bad about myself. Then I'm not reaching for a shirt that's too tight or a jacket that hits too low on my waist. What do I feel best in? My favorite sundress, casual jeans, v-necks, bright colors, etc. And consider why I like them. I like to feel cozy, comfortable, accentuate my waist, and have control over how warm/cold I am with layers, etc. What's your favorite thing about yourself? Blue eyes? I buy blue shirts that make mine look even more blue. Great boobs? Think about what neckline you like most. Old soul? I'm known for vintage brooches on my jean jacket that I collect. I know it's hard, but it's the little things that build up over time 💖

This is so common and I understand where you are coming from. At my heaviest I was around 170. As my medical issues piled up and the meds i was told to take added up I had at one point gone down to below 120- I had lost 40 pounds ish within a few weeks due to one medication in particular, it was clear I had to stop taking it which sucks because it was one that was helping my medical issues. Even as I weaned off that med I have been on a constant roller coaster of being put on and taken off meds. I don’t weigh myself anymore because I don’t find it helpful. I have no idea what my body actually looks like because I have lost and gained weight in such short periods of time due to drs putting me on and taking me off meds that I have body dysmorphia. I know in my head that I am not “big” in any meaning of the word, and yet when I look myself in the mirror I can’t see what I actually look like- I know it’s a human shape but the last constant body image I had was when I was at my heaviest. It sucks. And you just want to look like a stereotypical girl but you can’t. Even if you did your mind wouldn’t allow you to believe it. Sending love when this is the feeling you have ♥️♥️♥️

everyone’s body’s are different. i would say find what shape your body is (mine is an inverted triangle) and you can watch videos about how to dress your body type to be the most flattering. since i have wide shoulders it looks best to wear a tighter top and baggier pants. most of the time i’m just in an oversized t shirt though lol

I’m 53 and weight loss is almost impossible. Plus I have a list of health issues that prevent me from exercising. Up until around 35 years old, I was in fantastic shape. I worked out all the time and ran. My body fat was 12%, I weighed 125, and I looked awesome. It’s very hard to accept what I have become. When I was younger I used to look at older people and wonder why they stopped taking care of themselves. But that’s not always the case. Well it kind of is but there are good reasons why.I really feel your pain.
