@AuthorGirl I just joined this app this evening. I've been reading through and finding that we all share so many similarities. As a mother with no friends or life outside of the house or work, its relieving to know I'm not alone.

I have the worst driving anxiety. Constantly pulling over and getting out of my car to compose myself. I cant find anything to make it better. I was diagnosed with anxiety at 9, I'm now 33 and this driving anxiety just started roughly a year ago. 😥

@AshleyAnnB I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. It sucks big time and is so inconvenient honestly. Music & telling yourself you are okay are some things I try to use and others in this thread. Also I had no idea there were others like me ... It's weird I feel better that I know I'm not alone in this struggle and neither are you. ❤️

i used to have such bad driving anxiety, but the more i did it the more i got used to it! i did breathing techniques while driving, as well as listening to music i could hum along to

@katiemaxz yay that's awesome. I love that. Definitely a work in progress. Mine does really bad with rain. I can drive fine most of the time. I'm working on the rain part still after 8 years (since my accident).

I play with my hair and touch the buttons on my stereo to distract me. I actually had a bad panic attack earlier today driving and had to pull over and compose myself. It was awful!!!!

@kboyer00 I'm so sorry you had one today. I love the simple distractions, that's so helpful, thank you. I hope your day gets better. ❤️

Gentle distractions help me. A textured steering wheel cover for example. I don't have to look away, but I can rub my hands on it to calm a little

@Ducks34 oh I like that! Thank you. Once I get my car back or a new one...yep car broke down last week, I'll try that out. 😊

@AuthorGirl sorry to hear that, hope you have wheels soon! The cover has been a great help. Just make sure you like the feel, I looked for a hour before I found one I liked😂
