I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant. I was just diagnosed with lupus 3-4 months ago. My body is completely flared up, one eye is swollen shut, I can barely move it get out of bed. Anytime I do the bare minimum I start lightly spotting blood and passing weird small mucus looking strings. I've been to the doctor and er countless of times just to be turned away because "we can't help you while you're pregnant". I'm at a huge loss on what to do I'm in so much pain and I have a toddler at home who needs his mom just as well as my unborn does. does anyone have any advice? any bit of help is very much appreciated!

Hello love - congrats on your pregnancy! I’ve been pregnant several times with Lupus and it can be HARD. (I have two beautiful healthy kids now!) The worst is when doctors actually don’t want to treat you cause you have Lupus, so frustrating. Have you spoken to your OB about your discharge symptoms? It might be a good idea to get a high-risk OB who has some experience working with pregnancy and autoimmune disease. An OB should be able to reassure you that even with the discharge you’re okay for light activity... and this is so important to check out so that you can feel mentally good in the rest of your pregnancy.
Wheeze, seems like you will need help with the other child if possible. But try to stay on a schedule with resting together. Meals on time and getting fresh air. Breath and stay calm.
