I am considering asking for and wondering If I am a candidate for a feeding tube? I have a slow stomach from EDS, pain and nausea after eating, and trouble swallowing sometimes as a result of Tardive Dyskensia. Issue is, I am actually overweight so I am worried they'll laugh at me. I am overweight and undernourished.

Try Digestive Enzymes first. With EDS our bodies tend to not produce enough stomach acid to digest our food, so our stomachs get all out of whack. I was told by my doctors I need a feeding tube, but after lots of research I didn’t want to go down that rabbit hole. Another Dr recommended digestive enzymes which help with the production of stomach acid, and they have made a HUGE difference.

Is there a way for them to tell other than your weight that you're malnourished? They know your diagnosis and you can mention your specific symptoms

I am in a very similar situation. I have Gastroparesis and EDS. I was told many years ago that I needed a feeding tube and bc I was absolutely terrified by that (I was 14 at the time) I never went back to that specialist. I have since been put on many psyche meds which have caused me to have a significant weight gain so now I am unsure if I should even bring it up again. I am currently on a med bc I throw up so frequently that I had started throwing up blood. I'm not sure how much useful information I have about this topic but I am definitely a good listener if you ever are in need! Best of luck and healthy healing to you💕
