Considering a Feeding Tube for Slow Stomach and Dysphagia

Try Digestive Enzymes first. With EDS our bodies tend to not produce enough stomach acid to digest our food, so our stomachs get all out of whack. I was told by my doctors I need a feeding tube, but after lots of research I didn’t want to go down that rabbit hole. Another Dr recommended digestive enzymes which help with the production of stomach acid, and they have made a HUGE difference.

Is there a way for them to tell other than your weight that you're malnourished? They know your diagnosis and you can mention your specific symptoms

I am in a very similar situation. I have Gastroparesis and EDS. I was told many years ago that I needed a feeding tube and bc I was absolutely terrified by that (I was 14 at the time) I never went back to that specialist. I have since been put on many psyche meds which have caused me to have a significant weight gain so now I am unsure if I should even bring it up again. I am currently on a med bc I throw up so frequently that I had started throwing up blood.
