so currently my IBS with diarrhea is really bad.im in pain constantly and my bowel movements are green and nothing seems to calm my symptoms. I had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy about a year ago and my GI found nothing as far as he could tell I'm "healthy" I take culturelle ibs complete support and super enzymes with my meals to help digest my foods. I've tried an elimination diet, staying away from my triggers but when my ibs flares everything I eat seems to aggravate it 😮‍💨😔

I take Colestid. It’s a colesterol pill, but the side effect is it slows down your intestine. I can actually eat Mexican and Chinese food now. I was going 6-7 times a day.

I've had to cut out gluten completely and limit dairy a lot. I also can't eat too much fiber or i cramp up. I take dicyclomine twice a day and it has helped, but apparently peppermint pills have a similar effect? I didn't enjoy them but it could help. Licorice tea helps me a bit when I'm in a lot of pain

Just by reading these comments it helps tremendously! I have IBS and General Anxiety Disorder so i understand how your anxiety can make your IBS symptoms flare up. I tried to abide by the FODMAP diet my doctor put me on but it has only partially helped. Going to see a gastro soon. I’ve learned that drinking a lot of water and sticking to gluten and dairy free foods has helped a lot!

If you cook at home I can't recommend adding fennel and tarragon to your meals enough! Licorice flavored herbs are great for IBS. I'm not a doctor, so don't take it as treatment. But I use it in seasoning for my households IBS and it always helps us. Tumeric is also a good one for digestive inflammation in my experience. There's also an amazing tea by celestial seasonings called sleepytime detox. It has dandelion, chamomile, peppermint, and a few others in it that help me with mine.

Do you have high levels of anxiety? I know my anxiety causes flare ups, and so my doctor and I will be treating my IBS by treating my anxiety starting next week. I also had an endoscopy and they only found gastritis.

@Kato I do actually but I'm already on meds to help with my anxiety. However because anxiety definitely plays a part in my ibs I will try to do some self care and see if it helps.thank you ❤️

@Rae09 you're welcome! I hope it helps. It also doesn't hurt to drink or eat stuff that has probiotics in it to regulate your gut health 🤗 Celestial Seasonings tea has a probiotic green tea.

The one diet that really helped mine was the Clint Paddison diet. It's designed for rheumatoid arthritis (which I also have), but it focuses on gut health because that's part of how treatment for the arthritis works. It's vegan, gluten free, oil free, and has little to no preservatives

@Sunflower.System that's interesting I haven't heard of that before I'll look into it thank you ❤️
