I choose at least 1 thing a day that I do only for myself. Something that makes me smile or gives me some sort of satisfaction. I am in a house full of people, so having some alone time is crucial to me because I am the one taking care of everyone else. Once a month, I try to do something special for myself. IE: go to a movie, get a manicure/pedicure, enjoy my favorite snack/desert, buy a book or nice outfit. Something that is outside of the house. In order to do those special things, I save all my change and get up to $5 cash back when I use my card at the grocery store. Then it's less money that I have to pay out of that weeks budget. I also use affirmations written on post it's all over the house. Wherever I will see them most. Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen cabinets, and the door as I'm leaving the house. Ones I use most are: I am beautiful, I am worthy, I deserve respect, I am a good person.
Wish I knew how. I'm not fond of myself. Disappointed in myself most of the time. I try, and have tried for years to fix that in myself, but not successful
Self-care is important for me. Something like a simple skincare/facial routine. Doesn't matter what gender you are because we all have skin and it needs to be taken care of. Or taking time out for my hobbies. Mine include drawing, watching movies, writing and playing video games. So I set aside time each week to do these things.
Also if you can, reach outside of yourself and help someone who needs help. I know it sounds weird, but itβs a good way to remind yourself that you belong in society and if youβre Christian it will stir up your faith not only in the Lord, but in people.
