Does anyone have a way to help reduce anger? I have some issues with getting extremely irritated and sometimes defensive when talking about certain topics and/or in certain places and its very hard to calm myself down afterwards, I've tried using techiqes that have been recomened to me but nothing seems to work, does anyone have anything that might help?

My doctor and I have discovered that I need music to identify emotions and process those as well as entire social scenarios. Aside from that, I take breaks until I can calmly converse about the situation at hand. It's not my fault that my processing is slow and my emotions run high sometimes, but I can do a few things to take care of myself and attempt avoiding hurting others unnecessarily.

Music and singing loudly is what I do when I'm anxious, upset or angry. There's a genre or a song for every mood. šŸ˜Š

I try my best but sometimes it turns into a small accidental outburst, sometimes I can't get it under even a little bit of control

tbh sometimes itā€™s best to excuse yourself and take some time to yourself to process your thoughts, then decide if you want to express them outwardly

I like to go for walks and listen to music while I do. Walking calms me down physically, and the music calms me down mentally. I also try to ask myself what my anger is trying to tell me. Sometimes it's telling me that I feel like the person I'm talking to isn't listening, or that they don't care about me. Sometimes it's telling me that I'm overwhelmed and need to take a break. Learning to interpret my anger has allowed me to express it in a healthier way. I don't want to say that I control it, because I was taught that controlling your anger was suppressing it and not letting yourself feel angry.
