Has anyone else had a tilt table test? If you did, what did it feel like. Mine was so brutal that I have nightmares about it now. I felt like I was drowning in my own body.

@Wondercell yeah, I also had to get off of my medication, but it was for my mental health (I was using this medication before I was diagnosed). It's not fun. But I'd highly recommend bringing a distraction. For me the worst part was getting an IV, I really hate needles. Try to hang in there during the test, but you can tap out whenever it gets to be too much. I'd also say bring snacks and a water bottle. Regardless, good luck!

I have one scheduled for October and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Mainly because I understand I have to get off my beta blocker for 2 days previous. When I'm having a really bad tachycardic episode I take one of those even if it's an extra dose each day. Without that option when my heart acts up and it will since I will be going off the beta blocker it's going to be a real struggle and then I worry about getting myself back into a calming state when I get back on it took Me 2 years for my heart to settle down even this much.

I’m terrified to have one because so many people say it’s awful

@rj.crow just make sure to take deep breaths during the test and try to think of something that makes you happy. They might let you listen to music if bring some headphones, idk, it’s been a bit since I’ve had my test done

@NewYork thanks for the tips! my doctor has decided to hold off on it since my heart rate doesn’t get too excessively high unless i’m in intense heat, but it will probably get worse so i’ll need it at some point

@rj.crow stressing about it will probably make it worse. Don’t worry about it too much. It isn’t fun, but just think of it like you’re going to feel sick that day. Idk if that explanation makes much sense, but you’ll get through it :)

i felt the same way. i felt almost like i was melting into the ground? i hated it. my specialist has me do an 8 minute standing test every time i go in, and it makes me so anxious and that probably makes my heart rate go even higher.. lol, but i completely understand what you mean. standing still just feels so awful, i find it better to be walking since my muscles are getting my blood to flow :)
