How do you deal with having scars forever? I can't imagine not having them but I think it just set in that they're never going away. people are going to forever look at me weird, I'll have to explain to my future children why their parent looks like I do. It'll never go away. It feels like this will never get easier.

I ended up getting a big tattoo on my forearm, it helps but unless it’s full coverage people will still be able to tell close up. When you have kids one day you can use your past experiences to better understand them and if they have questions wait until their old enough and tell them the truth, this isn’t something you should hide from people that will be close to you, explain to them how hard you fight and how if they ever need help don’t hesitate to ask for help. Almost like a learning experience lol. Eventually you just learn to live with them, unless I’m having a hard time I rarely give them a second thought, they’re just a part of me now so I don’t even see them

For me, over time, I just ended up accepting them as part of my body. I’d see them often and eventually it stuck that they were there I think a lot of it’s going to be having false confidence about them (like saying you’re okay with people seeing them, even if you’re nervous about it) and then you might be able to believe it more.
