Frustrated with Hysterectomy Restrictions

My doctor won't let me get a partial hysterectomy until I'm 25, I've tried other doctors as well. Been fighting this for a long time. The only way he's willing to perform the surgery is if I have my husband sign off on it that I don't want children. I don't have a husband and I can't have children anyways. Just feel lost here

      Try contacting planned parenthood. They may be able to provide you with a better doctor.

      Well this is absolutely horrible. I had to fight several doctors but eventually got mine at 20. If you ever want to talk about it or learn more about what I did message me!!! I really hope you find someone willing to do it

        @Belugabear Also just want to mention this was after two excision surgeries so we knew the pain was my uterus and not endo, because hysterectomies don’t cure endo pain!!!

      Check out Nancy’s Nook Endometriosis Education. There is a list on there of known vetted excision specialists. They are able to do both a hysto and excision at the same time and usually are quite respectful of the patients wishes.

      Have you tried a laproscopy? I had one at 16 and it helped immensely with my symptoms. They wouldn't do a hysterectomy because of my age.

        @BethLynn The same doctor shit that down as well. The only help I've been able to get was for them to put me on birth control and upping my pain pills. Welcome to the bible belt healthcare down here

          @Harline bible belt here as well. We had to drive an hour just to get my husbands vasectomy because the local hospital refuses to do them 😒

        @BethLynn I know, trying to find one that will do it but they don't see it as a threat to my life so it's deemed an unnecessary surgery.....he listed it with cosmetic surgery. That was the sign I needed there
