Worried About My Future with Beta Thalassemia: Need Help with Healthcare Options

new to this… i live with beta thalassemia and im worried about what my future looks like financially, i live in the U.S. and i dont know how to figure out which healthcare options are most beneficial, as thats my biggest concern

      @Sam85 where in the US do you live? You should get in contact with the Cooleys Anemia foundation because there are some thalassemia clinics and they can help you.

      I live in the US too and was recently diagnosed with beta thalassemia. I had been misdiagnosed for about 23 years. My current doctor who diagnosed was not originally from the US and he is frustrated with the number of people who don't get proper treatment because US doctors don't know what to look for sometimes and confuse it for iron deficiency anemia. Anyways there isn't a lot known in the US about this condition as I have been finding out so I too am in the same situation about worrying about my future and family's financial stability.

      Hey there, beta thalassemia here, but I live in Iran. Funny that everytime people recommend me to try and move to the USA, while I don't have enough info about thalassemia treatment centers and their costs to even consider such a thing and that is a big cause of anxiety even for me, how are you keeping up?
