I was diagnosed in my early 20’s. I’m still angry about it.

I got diagnosed when I was 6. I'm kinda lucky. I had no clue what was going on. While the doctors were talking to my parents about a good diet for me, I was playing with Hot Wheels. But I still remember all of it. The hospital, the drive down, etc. I'm lucky the hospital I went to has such good doctors.

I was diagnosed in 2008, sadly I’ve never had a great support system from friends and family tried but gave up I suppose. I was very angry at the world for it happening to me, and I never accepted it even now and let me just say it’s done nothing to help. Keep trying to find support, wherever you can it is so so important. And be patient, people are learning right alongside you and it might be harder from them just because they literally don’t have diabetes.

I felt so weird being diagnosed in my 20s…I’ve never had a support group or a fun camp to attend in the summer. It has felt so isolating most of the time. Do you feel supported or like you have peoples who really “get you” in terms of your t1d?

I was diagnosed when I was 10, 13 years ago. The only feeling I remember is confusion. I had no idea what’s going on with me
